ABBEY PEST CONTROL READING
We launched Abbey Pest Control in Reading in early 2018 after previously working for a larger pest control company for many years. Mike eventually decided to venture out on his own as he wanted to offer our customers a better level of customer service than they may get from a larger national firm. To successfully treat a pest infestation, we believe you need to invest time into surveying the site and identifying all possible entry routes and nesting sites.
Mike grew up in Tilehurst and has lived in and around Reading his whole life, he is familiar with the local area and take prides in being a local family-run pest control company. We also work alongside another local firm, All Aspects Pest Control to ensure that we can deliver a quick response time and continuous cover to all our customers across Berkshire.
Having worked in the building industry for many years before becoming a pest controller, Mike has a broad range of skills that help him rid your property of pests and carry out the necessary proofing works to reduce the risk of any further problems.
Mike is often joined by Poppy, a Jack Russell terrier with bags of personality and a particular fondness for napping in the van.
We chose the name Abbey Pest Control due to the Abbey ruins being one of most prominent landmarks here in Reading and to reflect the many afternoons spent here whilst growing up in Berkshire.
The Abbey was built at the request of King Henry the 1st in 1121, it contained a large church and living quarters for dozens of monks and no expense was spared in building the Abbey.
Sadly, King Henry the 1st died before his Abbey was finished and he was buried here in Reading in 1136. At the time of completion, it was the 4th largest church in Britain and Reading Abbey is still one of the most recognised local attractions almost a century later.
